Since its launch in 2008, Kat Von D Beauty has rapidly gained acclaim for its high-quality, long-lasting makeup products, distinctive packaging, and bold color palettes. The brand is distinguished by its commitment to cruelty-free and vegan products, establishing itself as a staple in the beauty industry for those seeking edgy, artistic, and high-performance makeup.

  • As a Graphic Designer, my role encompassed a broad spectrum of creative responsibilities, including:

    • Conceptualization and design for packaging

    • Preparation of print production files involving complex print techniques

    • Quality assurance by revising print samples

    • In-studio product photography and photo editing

    • Design of digital screen assets and email campaigns

    • Logo design

True Portrait

Filigree was a fundamental brand element across all Kat Von D Beauty products. Leveraging my extensive experience with the brand, I designed the composition and filigree surrounding the color window on the primary component of this product and translated the design to the secondary packaging as well.

Mini Alchemist Palette

In response to the popularity of the Alchemist palette, the Mini Alchemist palette was developed. Inspired by the original logo, I designed a custom lowercase "a" for the face of the new palette and oversaw the process through to production.

Trooper Black

Drawing inspiration from Kat's iconic star tattoos, I designed the packaging for the Eyeliner Obsession Collector's Edition. The unique opening mechanism of the box allowed for creative freedom, making it an enjoyable project to design the box's sides and prepare the files for production. Additionally, I contributed to the design of the eyeliners themselves and facilitated the production for their boxes as well.

Metal Crush

I contributed to designing this custom logo, including the unique lightning bolt, meticulously laid out the design on the palette and prepared the file for production. This logo was subsequently adapted for various SKUs across the Metal Crush franchise.

During my tenure as designer for Kat Von D branding and packaging, I frequently had the privilege of vectorizing Kat's original concepts and sketches.
